Odsonne Edouard’s Celtic career is coming to an end this summer, but how soon will the striker get his move away from Celtic Park?

When can the club afford to sell the Frenchman? As soon as possible HAS to be the answer.

The news coming out of France and SunSport is the player is set to be selected for his country. Eddy will represent France at the Olympics meaning Celtic won’t have use of the player for at least the first two qualifiers should we progress.

Because of the Olympic call-up, there’s absolutely no reason to keep Edouard longer at the club even to help navigate through qualifiers. If he wasn’t getting a call-up to the Olympic squad, there would be an argument for keeping Eddy until later in the window, but the current circumstances mean a premature end to his Celtic career by a month or maybe more.

Celtic have a habit of keeping players until later down the line in a transfer window.

We would be best selling the frontman as quickly as we can to the highest bidder. Having money in the kitty to go out and get a new striker will be the incentive.

Everyone is expecting an Eddie Howe appointment and if that’s the case, the Englishman should be looking at strikers already.
