The SPFL have eventually found a new title sponsor after it was previously confirmed that Cinch will walk away from their contract with the league body at the end of the current season.

It has taken a while to find a replacement for the car firm but according to The Scottish Sun, it will be William Hill who take the reigns. The agreement is said to be record-breaking.

The bookies have previously been involved in the Scottish game, sponsoring the Scottish Cup for just shy of a decade between 2011 and 2020.

Their new upcoming sponsorship will earn Scottish football more money than the £1.6m per year that was netted from Cinch.

How much more William Hill will get the SPFL remains to be seen but given Neil Doncaster and the like’s history, it won’t be a considerable amount.

The deal has yet to be formally announced, but one assumes it won’t be long before it is.
