BRENDAN RODGERS has admitted that one of his star signings has ‘suffered’ due to his slight system change in the summer.

Sinclaire who was pivotal in his first season at the club struggled for form last year and eventually fell out the side before the end of the season.

Since then, the player has made most of his appearances from the bench and the Celtic manager has explained why this is the case.

Speaking ahead of Celtic’s tie against Rosenborg the Celtic manager admitted it’s down to changes he’s made: “He has suffered a wee bit because we have slightly changed the system, the dynamic of how we play. But he is still very important.

“Scott hasn’t played as much as in the first year. He suffered a wee bit last year but was still one of the top goalscorers.

“He still has a prominent part to play for us.”

Celtic welcome Rosenborg to Parkhead this evening as the bhoys look to gain another home victory over the Norweigan side.

The two clubs met in the Champions League qualifiers earlier this season, with Celtic coming out on top.

The bhoys will be hoping for another victory.
