Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Celtic are working on a number of deals and going down different avenues to improve his squad ahead of the new season.

The transfer rumours are coming thick and fast and even deals that are seemingly over the line, in the case of the two bhoys from South Korea, there has been no announcements forthcoming.

Despite that, the Irishman has revealed the club is working very hard behind the scenes to improve the squad.

“There is nothing to confirm as yet. We are working very hard on various things to make the group better.” Rodgers told SunSport.

“The best time to improve and develop is when the team is doing well.

“There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to get the team ready for when it matters. And there is still a bit of time to go.”

So far, we’re seeing Celtic’s recruitment team at play, signing players who the club has watched and analysed over a period of time.

Celtic fans are intrigued to see a signing that could indicate Brendan has had more of a say than anyone in coming to the club.

The Celtic manager was promised to be backed upon his return and that was before Jota was sold for a substantial amount of money.

If Rodgers has his eyes on players of higher value, these type of signings tend to play the until later on in the window.

For Celtic fans, over the last couple of years under Ange, we’ve been used to prompt signings and having them in long before a ball needs to be kicked. This year, it looks like it will be a little different.
