Cameron Carter-Vickers MAY be back in action against Lazio, according to Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

The U.S. international has been out of the game since Celtic’s victory at Aberdeen in August, following an absence at the end of the previous season due to a knee injury.

However, Rodgers is impressed by the speed of Carter-Vickers’ recovery from a recent hamstring problem. While caution will be exercised in his return, Rodgers hasn’t ruled out the chance of him participating in the upcoming Champions League match against Lazio at Parkhead this Wednesday.

Rodgers told Record Sport, “Cam, we wouldn’t take a risk unless he was fit. He has come through really, really well. He is further down the road than we thought. He has had a real good week of training and he’s been doing lots of other work out on the field before that.

“I said before that it (his return) might have been after the international break but he’s made great progress. So we will just assess that to see if he can be in for the squad tomorrow and if he is, then obviously it would be great news for us.”

From a Celtic fan’s perspective, having Carter-Vickers back, especially for such a crucial match, would be a massive boost for the team. His quick recovery is a testament to his dedication and could be a game-changer in the Champions League clash.

Celtic need to get points on the board against the Italian club. After losing their opener in Rotterdam in match day one, it’s pivotal we get our campaign up and running.
