Celtic are in the market for at least one goalkeeper this summer but most likely two. Joe Hart is retiring while Benjamin Siegrist is expected to move on.

With that in mind, Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen on Motherwell’s Liam Kelly who is out of contract in the summer.

MailSport report that Celtic goalkeeping coach has worked with Liam in the Scotland national setup and has been full of praise for the stopper.

The 28 year-old is a good shot stopper but he is unlikely to be heading to Celtic as their number one should the deal come to fruition.

Celtic has a homegrown quota to fill for European squads and Liam would fit the criteria. After allowing David Turnbull to move to Cardiff in January, they’re one down at present in the quota.

Rodgers signed Scott Bain during his first spell at Celtic with the same thing in mind. Although Scott did get some meaningful game time in the cups under the Irishman.

Liam, who started his career as a Rangers youth goalkeeper will have to decide if he wants to be a number two at the club or would rather look at first team football more regularly elsewhere.

  1. We need players who will fit into Celtic, I’d rather see some taller players as all the pressure at high balls is on vickers and scales, some players with some muscle who can last a match, at the moment we are rather lightweight, that give us some difference to tactics.
Whoever we sign has to fit in, enough of the hopefull sell on types, players who are committed to celtic with a winning attitude.
Some of our current hopefuls may improve, I don’t want the Duffys, Ajeti types anywhere near Celtic.
