Celtic looks set to splash out this summer. Brendan Rodgers is back in charge, and the club is looking to back him significantly. It appears the Hoops are in a prodigious position financially although that could duly be boosted.

Back when Celtic sold Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen a few years ago, they inserted a hefty sell-on clause.

Such a move looks like it will pay off soon, as the Dutchman has been in some hot form over the last few seasons.

Frimpong

Speculation has been widespread over a potential move away, and renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has said that the player has changed agents, and his value has increased.

Romano said (Born And Red On YouTube via Daily Record):

“He has new agents now, or better to say that his original agents parted with new agents, so this is what was going on. From what I’m hearing, this is an expensive player this summer.

“I’m told that Bayer Leverkusen could start negotiations only from £35m. There was a big opportunity in January as they were happy with £20m-£25m, now it’s around £35m, so it’s way more expensive.”

This price hike is only positive for Celtic. The greater Frimpong’s potential fee, the more the Hoops will receive as a sell-on.

Any boost in income will be greatly welcomed at Celtic this summer, and it is fair to say the sale of Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen could certainly wield this.
