Ronny Deila will return to Glasgow next month for the Celtic Player of the Year ceremony at the Hydro.

The Norwegian was sacked by Club Brugge last month and is currently out of work.

Now 48, Deila seems to be held in a respectable regard by many a Celtic fan. He came in and won a few trophies but knew he perhaps wasn’t of the required standard to bring an elite level of success which his successors did.

On the 12th of May, he will be one of several star-studded award presenters such as Chris Sutton, Aiden McGeady, Shaun Maloney, John Hartson, and Charlie Mulgrew.

Should Celtic defeat Rangers at Parkhead the day before the awards night, it will be a weekend to remember for supporters.

Between now and then, though, there is still a wealth of football to be played. The Bhoys must continue performing how they have in recent matches despite Rangers’ drop-off.

The foot needs to be kept firmly on the gas going into the final six (potentially seven) games of a rollercoaster campaign.
