Hibernian manager Shaun Maloney is reportedly keen on raiding former club Celtic to secure the services of young midfielder Ewan Henderson.

The latest boss to take up the role at Easter Road is looking to add to his squad as SPFL sides enter the January transfer window, with Hibs preparing to go under a rebuild of their own after the recent departure of Jack Ross.

As reported by Edinburgh Live, Maloney could look to his former club for his first piece of business in the January window, with Henderson attracting interest from the Leith side.

Henderson has found minutes hard to come by since breaking into the first team in the 18/19 season. This season, the youngster has made just one appearance off the bench against Real Betis, in which he scored as the Hoops went on to win 3-2.

He has also had spells out on loan with the likes of Ross County and Dunfermline. However, they haven’t resulted in any more action in the first team.

The academy graduate could now look to make a similar move to his brother, Liam, by having a spell in the capital with Hibs.

Similarly, the report mentions that Ewan has options from abroad too in Italy, where his brother is currently playing his football with Empoli.

The 21-year old is also approaching the last six months of his contract at Parkhead, so he is now free to talk to other clubs surrounding moves down the line.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Henderson chooses to make a move to join up with Maloney in this window. The new Hibs manager will likely know him well from his time spent in the youth set-up at Parkhead.
