Celtic are set to do battle with their Glasgow rivals this afternoon but we already know they will be without some key players.

COVID-19 has both Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed isolating and Ryan Christie has is out for being in close contact with someone who has contracted the virus. Over and above that, Edouard is just off a self-isolating period having tested positive and is unlikely to play in the game.

The news coming out late last night was Christopher Jullien’s absence from first-team training on the eve of the derby. The Frenchman has missed a month so far with a knee injury but was expected to be back in time for the derby. There are doubts over his inclusion this morning which has given way to a shock Glasgow derby start rumour.

If Jullien is out and Neil Lennon is to go 3-5-2 this afternoon then there is most likely going to be a derby debut for youngster Stephen Welsh. He’s not started a game since Hamilton away last season where the bhoys left it late to get all three points. Many outlets are reporting on the shock move including SunSport.

It would be a massive gamble.

  1. This is so poor. Klimala is hopeless. The goalie is terrible. The defence looks clueless How didf they manage the second goal it was like a 5 a side goal in games I p[lay in. Why play the Pole from the start? Celtic could play for a week and not score. Rangers look very comfortable. They are winning every paert of the pitch. Big loss this . The ten is slipping away. THere is no way this group of players are good enough. Now Griffiths and Rogic come on. Why were they not in from the start? Especially with Eddy and Christie out. I think Lenny’s time is about up. Whatever happen to picking your strongest team. Lennon has been all over the place this

  2. how come they are much fitter and look way ahead of us brown has lost it and should only be a bench player now,but come we need fit players for games and players that want to play for there team and a manger that knows how to get players fit and ready for any team…
