Celtic travel to Fir Park on Sunday at noon in need of three Scottish Premiership points to maintain their title fight. Things are tight at the top of the table, and any win is invaluable.

The Bhoys stumbled at home to Kilmarnock last week and they cannot afford a repeat performance this time around. Manager Brendan Rodgers insists it is all about the ‘mind’ at this stage for his team.

The manager has been over the course numerous times before, but he has never succeeded in a title race this close. It is neck and neck and it doesn’t look like either side could run away with it.

That makes each game more crucial and this weekend’s is no different. Ahead of it, however, Sky Sports have scored a comical own-goal.

On TV, a preview image of the match has Matt O’Riley and a Motherwell player standing next to him. This seems standard practice, but the Motherwell player in fact no longer plays for them anymore:

O’Riley’s fellow Denmark youth international Mika Biereth returned to Arsenal from his ‘Well loan in January and is now at Sturm Graz in Austria. He scored the winner for his side in the Europa Conference League last night against Slovan Bratislava.

Biereth hasn’t played for Motherwell since December, but some argue O’Riley hasn’t for the Hoops either. His form has been off the boil for the vast majority of 2024 and if the title is to be delivered, the midfielder needs to buck his ideas up, starting this weekend at a venue where he bagged a 97th-minute-winner earlier in the season.
