There are a number of Celtic players out on international duty at the minute representing their countries. Callum McGregor is set to play for Scotland this evening, meanwhile, attacker Yang Hyun-jun turned out for his nation on Thursday evening.

South Korea took on Wales in a friendly in Cardiff, and the winger came on for the final six minutes of the goalless draw. It was his maiden appearance for his nation, and after it, his manager Jurgen Klinsmann was full of praise for him.

The German admitted Yang has been impressing for Celtic so far, and that he done well on his South Korea debut. He said (Glasgow Times): “Yang has been playing well for Celtic and he came on here and was good too. I think it will be very important to see how much he grows and develops both at club and at country level.”

In his time in Glasgow so far, Yang has shown in flashes what he is capable of. On the ball, he looks skilful and flamboyant but still has room for development.

It is tough for the 21-year-old to gain opportunities due to the strength and depth of Brendan Rodgers’ attack. Despite this, if he takes his opportunities, continually improves, and makes a mark, he could turn out to be a big player for the champions.
