The side showed some great character to get back into the match, falling behind twice. Vata levelled things up for the side before halftime, after he made his first team debut for the senior side just two days ago.

After witnessing the demolition in front of the home crowd, Ange Postecoglou headed to the Celtic dressing room to congratulate the players on their massive win.

Darren O’Dea explained what happened post-match to CeltsAreHere, who attended a press conference with the B team coach.

“He let us get on with it but came into the dressing room afterwards to see the players. I can’t tell you how much that means to everyone. Stephen and I were put in charge of this with the manager above us and the support he has given us has been incredible.

“The huge benefit we get is the access we have into the manager, getting to hear his ideas. That’s fantastic and I think we can take this on a lot more and I know the manager will want us to do that.

“His support and John Kennedy’s support today is invaluable. The players will feel that and certainly Stephen and I do, and hopefully we can repay that faith and trust by producing players for him”

Actions like that from the manager could make the difference for players. Over the past few weeks, there have been many reports that clubs elsewhere are keen to lure some of Celtic’s younger stars to them, but if they’re seeing Ange watch their games and take an interest in the results, it could make them think twice.

The manager has shown there is a pathway to the first team, with Lawal and Vata involved in recent squads.
