ALL 42 clubs have successfully applied for the 50k grant after James Anderson gifted the SPFL Trust £3,125,000 inclusive of gift aid.

To get the grant you had to show how the money would benefit the wider community and all clubs have met the criteria. However, there are three clubs who have put straight into their associated charity without hesitation;

Celtic, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

This means Celtic have applied for the money and will put it into the foundation to continue to help the community in these most testing of times. The Celtic Foundation have donated over 400k to different causes since the outbreak and continue to do great work.

This money from James Anderson will go a long way to help the community of many clubs.

It’s not clear what other clubs will be doing with the cash and what the parameters were with regards to what constitutes helping the wider community.

The smaller clubs who get this grant will likely use it to make sure they can still keep things going and make sure their community has a local football team to support when all this is said and done.
