Celtic picked up a deserved 3-0 win in Paisley on Tuesday evening courtesy of goals from Daizen Maeda, Matt O’Riley, and Greg Taylor. The victory made it four in a row for the champions who have bounced back from defeats to Kilmarnock and Hearts last month.

After the match, the scorer of the Hoops’ second, O’Riley, claimed that his side must keep the ante up: “We know the demands of this football club”, he said (celticfc.com). “I’ve been here long enough now to know you can’t let your foot off the gas so that will be the message when we come back.”

To maintain their position as league leaders, The Bhoys must keep up the consistency in terms of performance and results. O’Riley understands this and recognises the need for him and his teammates to remain at the top of their game.

Under Brendan Rodgers in the past, Celtic went on formidable runs of form in the second half of seasons. Supporters will be hoping the same rings true this time around.

Things don’t start back until the 21st of January when Highland League side Buckie Thistle makes the trip to Parkhead. Between now and then, though, work will be carried out to ensure the Celts are in top condition to go on a vintage Rodgers’ post-winter break run.
