CELTIC could open discussions to welcome back Moi Elyounoussi, the Norwegian Internationalist, to Paradise, as per Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

Celtic Moi Elyounoussi

The 28-year-old had a two-season stint with Celtic on loan before he returned to Southampton, from where he was let go at the conclusion of the previous season.

In a conversation with Give Me Sport, Joseph conceded that both parties are likely evaluating their options for the summer. However, given the past association between the club and the winger, they might end up in negotiation talks.

Jospeph told Give Me Sport:

“So there’s no rush for him because he’s available on a free so he’ll be weighing up his future.

“Celtic will be weighing up on other targets, but there’s a chance that the two parties could end up speaking and something could be done.

“But Elyounoussi is certainly a very good player to be available on a free transfer in this window.”

Celtic has already signed winger Marco Tilio and is on the verge of bringing Yang Hyun-Jan into the club, who can also play out wide.

But after Jota’s exit to Saudi Arabia, Celtic are in need of a replacement on the left wing, and there’s no doubting the quality that Elyounoussi possesses, but Celtic are yet to make a move for the player. Whether they will or not will become clear as the window progresses.

  1. Please no. Elyounoussi was a nice player first time, but no heart. Terrible misses one on one v Rangers. Please let’s not go backwards all the time

  2. Totally disagree with respect. I thought he played with a passion and with a smile on his face, the fans being in the stadiums this time will bring him alight and I think he’s got a role for us and some great goals to build on his impressive record. We’re looking for experience for European nights and we are very short of that – he’s an EPL proven player and exciting to watch!
