In light of the contentious statements made by Israeli national team manager Alon Hazan, Celtic has taken a firm stance in defence of its fans and values.
The accusations levelled against the club’s supporters, alleging anti-Semitism, have been met with a strong rebuttal from the storied Scottish team.
A spokesperson for Celtic FC told CeltsAreHere:
“Any suggestion that the Celtic support is anti-Semitic is totally inaccurate. Celtic is a diverse club, proud to be open to all, ever since its formation in 1888”.
“Everyone at Celtic Football Club continues to give Liel our full support.”
The controversy began when Hazan publicly demanded a condemnation from Celtic’s management, a move that raised eyebrows given the club’s track record of embracing players from diverse backgrounds, including many Israelis. The subsequent fallout necessitated a definitive stance from Celtic, not just to clear the air but to uphold the principles it represents.
The club have rightly come out and stood up for their fans. The comments were baseless and as Celtic said “totally inaccurate”.
Liel Abada is expected to be out until the new year with his injury, but fans are excited to see him back on the pitch soon.

Can’t remember seeing any fans with a star of David flag (of any size) apart from them wearing them on their lapels??
And yes I have met quite a few supporters that are Jewish at Paradise.
And know plenty that are ardent fans of the Hoops.

Maybe the flag sellers should stock some star of David flags?
I do remember badge sellers having Star of David badges. Even though Celtic had never played many teams from Israel in the early 1970’s.
I have no problem with Jewish players at Celtic (Henke was a rasta) A player of Jewish persuasion is still a player.
