Brendan Rodgers has hit out at Celtic’s 1-1 draw against Aberdeen.

The Hoops were held to a 1-1 draw by Aberdeen at Pittodrie, with Bojan Miovski opening the scoring early in the second half. Nicolas Kuhn responded for Celtic, marking his first goal for the club with the equaliser.

Rodgers said (Sky Sports): “Two points dropped; we had chances in the first half, and good chances. You could see Aberdeen were a little bit nervous in the game, and we had to try to exploit that.

“I thought second we were loose with our passing, and I think the big thing when you’re playing in this type of game is that you have got to win your first, second, and third balls.

“For their goal, we were loose with our pass, and they made two passes. The guy (Bojan Miovski) is in on goal, so we’re disappointed with that.”

3rd February 2024; Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen, Scotland; Scottish Premiership Football, Aberdeen versus Celtic; Adam Idah of Celtic warms up

Despite Adam Idah making his debut early in the second half, he was unable to get on the scoresheet but showed great linkup in his quick one-two with Kuhn for the equaliser.

Idah and Kuhn will hope that they can guide Celtic to a domestic double in the second half of the season.

Rodgers’ side has failed to impress supporters during his first six months back at the club in his second spell in charge.

With a lack of January transfers, questions are being asked by supporters about why the club isn’t progressing.

Today’s 1-1 draw against Aberdeen is yet another sign that things are not moving in a positive direction, despite an incredible two years under Ange Postecoglou.
