Celtic are closing in on their second successive title under Ange Postecoglou.

The Bhoys have been almost formidable in the 2022/23 season so far, failing to win just three domestic matches.

Across the campaign, consistency in both performances and results have been key for Postecoglou’s men although one English pundit has made an uneducated remark about the difficulty of this.

Glen Johnson, who played for Millwall, Portsmouth, West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke City throughout his career and never stepped foot in Scottish football, has claimed that it isn’t hard for Postecoglou to succeed at Celtic.

Speaking to King Casino Bonus, Johnson said:

“Ange Postecoglu shouldn’t take on the challenge [West Ham job], but I’m sure he would want to. He is doing well at Celtic – but that is not a difficult job to do”

Clearly, Johnson is not clued up on Scottish football and Celtic.

For someone to say what Postecoglou is doing at Parkhead is easy is heavily ignorant.

The amount of Celtic managers who have failed and fallen on their own swords – Tony Mowbray, Neil Lennon, John Barnes, the list goes on – is vast and thus displays how tough a gig it can be at Parkhead at times.

Perhaps Johnson should maybe take a step back and realise how far Postecoglou has took the club in such a short space of time and clue himself up on past managers’ failed tenures before commenting on the role’s difficulty.
