We had Sean Markus Clifford at the City of Glasgow Cup on Tuesday evening to give us the lowdown on the tie between Celtic B and Clyde. You can read his match report here.

At the time, the reporter did say Conor Hazard’s sending off and subsequent penalty looked harsh in the final minutes of the game.

Celtic were 1-0 up at the time when veteran striker David Goodwillie went through on goal, Hazard has come out his goals and vitally, out of his box to challenge the striker.

The quadruple treble hero was sent off by the referee but then stunningly the whistler pointed to the spot. Celtic TV images show how ridiculous a decision it was.

It seems Celtic can’t escape horrible decisions in the lower echelons of Scottish football either.

Conor Hazard starting the game and being sent off won’t do much for his confidence. The player seems a million miles away from the first team after his brief stint and Hampden heroics almost a year ago.

  1. A “referee” who is clearly under the control of the officials who pay him.
The SFA and SPFL actually still wonder why the game in Scotland is laughed at worldwide!
