The Celtic Christmas advert is out for 2023 and there is a lot to unpack.

The advert centres around Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi having magical Christmas powers as he goes about sorting things at Celtic Park and Lennoxtown.

The advert has the usual Celtic Christmas feel. It works well because the players involved always commit to being as cheesy as possible. Kyogo is the star of the show and we can’t think of a better star.

Callum McGregor is a veteran of these things now while there were some newbies. Luis Palma sporting a Christmas jumper on the halfway line with his Celtic teammates.

However, the biggest laugh of the advert came right at the end. After the Celtic foundation Christmas appeal graphic had appeared, it cuts to the Celtic superstore with a staff member holding a book. The camera closes in and it’s Brendan Rodgers’ book from his first spell at the club. Hilariously the dust is blown off the book and put back on the shelf. Brilliant patter!

A lot of work goes into these ads and it’s always a highlight for Celtic fans to see their heroes in a different and more comical light.

Over the years we’ve had KT and Paddy Robert’s in onesies, Scott Brown as Scrooge, Mikael Lustig as a police officer and even Brendan Rodgers as a bus driver.

Great effort this year by all involved.
