Matt O’Riley is having the season of his life at the moment and he took that form into the game against Hearts on Sunday where it took the Celtic star just three minutes to open the scoring.

The midfielder has been given more licence to get into the box under Brendan Rodgers and he’s making it count.

A sublime ball over the top by Luis Palma fell perfectly for the onrushing O’Riley who finished first time!

Celtic had been off due to the international break and many thought it would take the bhoys longer to get going. Not quite!

The bhoys are at Tynecastle looking to restore their seven point lead at the top of the table and it was a great start!

O’Riley was given a late call up to the Denmark international squad during the break but despite meeting up with his fellow international teammates, he didn’t see any game time.

He’s showing again why that is a bad move by any manager who has the ability to utilise Matt.
