Kyogo Furuhashi signed for Celtic on Friday before playing his final game for Vissel Kobe on Saturday.
The player is now Glasgow bound after boarding a flight from Japan overnight.
It’s expected the player will go through the same quarantining procedure in London as Ange Postecoglou underwent last month.

Japan Sports journo Dan Orowitz confirmed on Social media the expectation is the attacker will join up with the squad straight after quarantining.
It rules Kyogo out of the next few Celtic games but he could be in line for his debut against Hearts at the end of the month.
The Japanese star will be desperate to get his Celtic career underway.
Kyogo looks like an exciting player and Ange Postecoglou clearly rates the player very highly.
The expectation is Edouard will leave at some point in this window; we need to make sure we have fire power in the squad already when that happens.
Furuhashi has scored 15 goals in 21 games this season and leaves Japan as the J-Leagues top goal scorer.
