Neil Lennon went hell for leather on Monday at his press conference. It was a scattergun approach and gave the media plenty of ammunition to keep the story going.

A lot of what Neil Lennon said at the start of this week was wrong but he did make several top points.

One of the points he did make was the lack of ability to social distance at away grounds.

The Celtic manager named St Johnstone and Hamilton as two clubs where the players have no chance of self-isolating. This brought on widespread derision and prompted St Johnstone to post a full statement shouting down the Celtic manager. Hamilton released a short statement saying they were happy with what they were doing in terms of protocols.

Well, tonight, Neil Lennon can feel somewhat vindicated as Aberdeen boss, Derek McInnes has confirmed he’s stated his concerns with some of the away ground and his team’s safety because of the lack of distancing allowed.

“There are clubs that do it better than others,” McInnes told BBC.

“When we are in a dressing room, we have got to be socially distant. But there are a couple of grounds where the concerns are clear right from the outset and you are a bit nervous about that next Covid test.

“I have voiced my concerns about where the space isn’t adequate, and where if we had a positive test then we would be in real danger of wiping out the majority of the squad.”

  1. Neil is as socially distant as you can get now. I know St Brendan was hunted by the Epl. So since Neil had a go down south, if he gets fired. Where will he go?
Fuck that, get Neil on the board. It needs someone with Celtic street smarts.
