FENERBAHCE hold the cards in the transfer pursuit of Vinicius Souza, with the player preferring to join the Turkish side.

Celtic was linked to the player by the Daily Mail, however, reports from Yağız Sabuncuoğlu suggest that the Brazilian would prefer to join Fenerbahce. Club Brugge and Bologna are also set to miss out on his signature.

Furthermore, Celtic could be priced out of the deal, with Souza’s current side,  Lommel, holding out for a fee of €9 million, just over £7.5 million.

With Celtic singing Carter-Vickers for a club-record fee, and close to completing Jota for around £7 million, it’s unlikely they’ll make a move for any more high-price signings.

One thing is for sure, Postecoglou is looking to add players to his midfield, with Rogic and Bitton departing the club.

With the clubs that were linked, it’s odd that the player’s preference is Fenerbahce. The Turkish League second-place team enters the Champions League Second Qualifying Round, meaning they arent guaranteed Group Stage football, unlike Celtic.
