Mikey Johnston has continued his incredible form on loan at West Bromwich Albion with two goals and an assist against Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

Johnston’s value has undoubtedly increased with the English Championship seen as a highly competitive and tough league to perform in; the Irish winger has simply thrived.

With six goals and an assist in nine league games, Johnston is a man on form, arguably the best of his career, posing the question: What do Celtic do with him in the summer?

Interestingly there is no option to buy in his loan deal, meaning West Brom would have to negotiate with Celtic over a permanent transfer fee.

Due to his stellar form, the West Midlands side would likely face competition from English Premier League and Championship sides for his signing in the summer.

Leaving Celtic in a tough position over whether to cash in on him when his market value is at an all-time high or to bring him back into the first-team setup in pre-season.

Despite making his first appearance for the Celtic first team back in May 2017, the Irishman has failed to solidify himself as a first-team starter, with injuries plaguing his Celtic career.

Some may have written off his future at Celtic with the loan move to West Brom seen as the beginning of the end of his Hoops career.

However, after his inspired form in recent months in the West Midlands, he may just have salvaged his Celtic career.

  1. Get rid.

I don’t care what he’s doing at WBA, he’s been around 5-6 years and shown very little in a Celtic jersey.

As he seems to be attracting interest, instead of the usual (Lawwell?) setting a price for a player, why don’t we get various clubs involved in a bidding war, pushing up the price and maximising income for the club?
