Celtic dropped points for the first time in 2024 on Saturday afternoon, stumbling to a disappointing 1-1 draw at Pittodrie. Bojan Miovski’s opener rightly caused concern, but it was soon cancelled out by Nicolas Kuhn’s first goal in green and white.

Despite their late efforts, the Hoops couldn’t go on to find a winner and instead left behind two crucial Scottish Premiership points. Manager Brendan Rodgers admitted post-match that his side cannot afford to make too many more mistakes in the title race.

One of his January acquisitions, Kuhn, mirrored these comments after the game. The German winger, though, also sent out a rallying cry to the supporters: “Of course, we need to be positive”, he said (Glasgow Times).

“We need the fans and we also need to stay together, so we can improve and get better and better in every game.”

This season has just been like any other in terms of fan backing. The Celtic supporters are some of the best in the world and in the current campaign, they will be behind the players on the pitch down to the wire regardless of how things are off the park.

Kuhn, despite being at the club for less than a month, realises how pivotal the fans are to Celtic. The harmony is not quite there between the club and the supporters currently, but that does in no way mean the manager and squad aren’t being backed because every week, the numbers in the stands are as high as can be.

Although Kuhn wants the fans onside, performances on the park need to be there, too. The Celtic support will be behind the team regardless, but displays do need to improve for the overall mood surrounding the club to get better and that starts with the trip to Easter Road on Wednesday.
