CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS has stated that he believes Celtic are close to competing in the Champions League, taking the positives out of the four group games so far.

Celtic haven’t been at their best in the competition, with fans sure they’re capable of much better than what the side has shown so far. It’s been frustrating, with plenty of chances falling Celtic’s way. They just haven’t been able to capitalise on them.

Celtic went toe to toe with the European champions and should’ve been a few goals up, but eventually, the side tired, and Real Madrid made them pay.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is adamant that Celtic are nearly at the level to compete against the sides in the competition, saying in Friday’s press conference;

“We’re fairly close.

“In all the games so far, we’ve competed well. You could say in the last little bit we need to improve.

“But it’s our first time in the competition as a squad, and we’re going to have to learn and improve.”

It’s not something that can happen overnight. Postecoglou is working with the team to better themselves for Europe’s top competition, but it takes time and some transfer windows. The manager is working hard to get Celtic competing, with the club testing themselves this season to get a true visual of where they are.
