When you’re finished licking your wounds from Thursday nights shambolic performance and subsequent defeat from Valencia, it is back to league business. How long do you need to sit around wondering why Celtic wouldn’t play the ball out of their own half? Get over it.

Rodgers is coming up against a manager who has won two, drew one and lost one in his last four encounters with the Irishman. If Celtic players are still licking their wounds from Thursday, they will be in for a tricky afternoon.

Steve Clark has Kilmarnock punching above their weight all season. In fairness to Rodgers, he has always managed to get his team up and energised after European defeats. If the Celtic boss is to get the focus back into his players he can start by reminding them that they have not lost a game in 2019 domestically. They have not conceded a goal while scoring thirteen.

The crazy amount of games Celtic face in February (8 Games In 25 days) might see Brendan Rodgers make some changes. He has an impossible task in Valencia on Thursday night and a really tough task at Rugby Park tomorrow. One win from four against Killie is not good reading. Celtic have lost on their last two visits to Kilmarnock. The Bhoys need to maintain a hard-earned six-point cushion but will have their work cut out for them.
