CELTIC played out a 2-2 draw with Blackburn on Saturday afternoon as the bhoys played their first game of the season at Parkhead.
Celtic went down 1-0 inside the first minute but recovered to 2-1 before the break. A free kick from Blackburn would draw the game level and it would finish all square.
Ange Postecoglou fielded a strong side and the bhoys impressed for the time the first team lads were on the field.
However, there’s still a massive need for another centre-back coming in before the end of the window.
Starfelt has been out ever since being stretchered off in his full Sweden debut back in June. Stephen Welsh has been playing his Carl’s absence and while he’s doing a decent job, Jullien is not favoured at all by the manager. If we either have an injury to Starfelt or CCV during the season, the drop off is pretty steep for their replacements.
Chris Sutton believes the writing is on the wall for Jullien and the Frenchman could be off before the window closes too.
I still think another centre back is a must as the writing is on the wall for Christopher Jullien.
The manager has said the right things but it looks like he’s clearly not having the Frenchman, for whatever reasons. I think Jullien has been good for Celtic. You only have to look at his displays in rearguard action games against Lazio and Rangers in the League Cup Final a few years ago.
It might be the way Celtic play now doesn’t suit him and Postecoglou feels he could get left exposed. The collapse of the Schalke move was a blow to both parties but it could work in the favour of all parties. Jullien might be needed and he has to take the opportunity. He might surprise his manager and save having to splash out on another centre half.

Jullien got some game time in the second half but it was very telling he shot straight up the tunnel after the game finished.
If Celtic and Ange are looking at things, surely another defensive signing is around the corner.
