Celtic winger Yang Hyun-jun has revealed the sole difficulty he has experienced since moving to the club. The South Korean internationalist joined the Hoops from Gangwon FC in his homeland over the summer and has shown a few signs of promise so far.

In flashes, the attacker has displayed his potential. On the whole, though, he hasn’t overly impressed. He is yet to score for the champions but his assist for Matt O’Riley up at Pittodrie was a thing of beauty.

Although his performances haven’t been too consistent in terms of level, the 21-year-old hasn’t faced many hardships since moving to Scotland. In fact, Yang has revealed there is only one thing bothering him.

Said issue is the language barrier. The player stated: (Celtic TV via Daily Record): “If I had to pick one [difficulty], it would be the language. Since I’m not good at speaking English, there is a language barrier when I’m trying to communicate with other players on the team. Other than that I have no problems.”

Coming from South Korea, Yang is not clued up on English as well as some of his teammates are. Clearly, this has caused problems but in the wider scope of things, it is not that much of an issue.

Take players such as Kyogo and Daizen Maeda. Neither of the attacking duo are fluent in English but both have succeded at Parkhead. As long as Yang’s performances are there, the language barrier won’t be a problem for him.
