Yosuke ‘Guchi’ Ideguchi has taken a fresh step in his career by signing permanently with Japanese champions Vissel Kobe.

This news comes on the heels of his successful loan spell with Avispa Fukuoka, where he turned heads and earned a nomination for the J. League Player of the Year.

Guchi’s journey at Celtic, though short-lived, was a story of unfulfilled potential. Arriving in Glasgow alongside Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate, he was part of a thrilling Japanese trio that promised to electrify the Celtic midfield. Unfortunately, for Guchi, his time in the green and white was marred by injury woes, limiting him to just a handful of appearances.

Despite the challenges, Guchi’s spirit remained undimmed. His recent move to Vissel Kobe, a club familiar to us through Kyogo’s previous stint there, seems like a natural progression for a player of his calibre and determination.

Guchi, ever the gentleman, took to social media to express his gratitude and lasting connection to the Celtic fans. His message, simple yet touching, resonates with warmth and sincerity:

💬 “I’ll never forget my memories of Glasgow. Thank you to all of you. I’m cheering you on from Japan. Thank you🍀”

Such words speak volumes about the player and despite not making the cut, he still holds the club and its fans in the highest of regards.

We wish Yosuke ‘Guchi’ Ideguchi all the best in his new chapter with Vissel Kobe.

“Once a Bhoy, always a Bhoy.” 🍀
