The easing of lockdown is coming at the end of this month for Scotland. It’s been a very difficult year for everyone and not getting into stadiums to cheer our favourite teams on has been one of the many things we’ve had to get used to.

As things start to ease and Hampden gets the go-ahead for 25% capacity for the Euros in June, it’s only natural we look at what’s next for club football in this country.

If the Euros is going ahead with some fans then Celtic Park being a quarter full in three months time should be something more than achievable.

We reported on the Champions League dates for next season which thrusts Celtic back to action on July 20/21. If the Hoops are awarded a home tie first, this would be the jumping-off point for the start of our season.

Given the Scottish Government’s commitment to the international game, we MUST see them follow suit with a partial reopening of football grounds around the country.

Of course, we know the situation is fluid and a rise in cases could see this halted, however, given the success of the vaccine roll out, it would be prudent enough to believe this was very possible.
