He was a standout in the middle of the pitch, with the whole game just flowing through the Aussie World Cup star. In the attacking sense, he was great too, and he had the set-piece responsibility. He whipped a few good balls in from the corner flag, as well as some nicely floated in free kicks, one of which led to the opening goal.

Mooy is yet to win a trophy in the green and white of Celtic, but he’s helped his side take one step closer with a final to play in February.

The summer signing admitted one of the reasons he joined Celtic was to compete for silverware. Expressing his delight with the way the team are playing and how he’s fitting in, Aaron Moy said: [STV]

“One of the reasons I came here is to compete for trophies. Celtic’s a massive club and they’ve got a massive history and they are always challenging so it’s a big plus for players looking at coming here.

“I’m really enjoying my football just now, it’s an amazing club to play for and I’m just trying to make the most of it.”

He’s turned into one of Ange’s most underrated signings, playing a bigger than expected role for the club.
