AIK have told their supporters they WILL broadcast the Celtic game in Glasgow through the club’s tv channel after the game had not been picked up to be televised in Sweden. This means subscribers to AIK’s channel will get the game live. However, the club has gone one further and welcomed new fans to watch the game live on a 30 day free trial.

A massive departure from CelticTV and the way they operate. Anyone who has wanted to see the qualifiers shown exclusively on CelticTV would’ve had to fork out £50 for the year with no free trial offered.

AIK made the announcement on Twitter:

Great news! AIK Football’s official streaming service @FollowUsAIK broadcasts the decade’s away game, Celtic – AIK on Thursday! The match is only broadcast on FollowU’s AIK. If you do not already have the service, register here, free for 30 days for new users.

Celtic have yet to announce if they will show the game or if it will be on TV at all. With sales quite slow on match day briefs the club could very well make this game a blackout to encourage people to get to Parkhead.

If you can’t make the game then AIK are allowing 30 day free trials. Decent news if you know your way around a VPN.
