Jota’s journey in Saudi Arabia has been nothing short of eventful since his £25 million move to Al-Ittihad earlier this transfer window.

The winger, who has been on lucrative wages, found himself in a precarious position when reports indicated he would be released due to Al-Ittihad reaching their European player limit. Contrary to these reports, Jota made a bench appearance for the team on Thursday and got some minutes on the pitch.

However, his future at the Saudi Pro League champions remains uncertain. Recent developments suggest that Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, along with another Saudi Arabian side, Al-Taawoun, have shown interest in securing Jota on loan for the season, making an approach according to Bara 18. These offers were reportedly rejected by Al-Ittihad, who are looking for a permanent exit for the 24-year-old rather than a temporary loan.

Amid these swirling rumours, Tottenham Hotspur has also emerged as a potential suitor for Jota, fueling speculation of a reunion with former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. Serie A side Atalanta is also reportedly interested in acquiring the talented winger.

With Al-Ittihad looking for a permanent deal, and interest from both domestic and international clubs, Jota’s next move could be one of the more intriguing storylines as the transfer window reaches its conclusion.
