Celtic may not have had as much prosperity on the continent over the past few years as they’d have liked, but that has not stopped their players from impressing in European competition.

Matt O’Riley has stood out in the Champions League over the past two campaigns while Odsonne Edouard notched three goals and two assists in the Europa League in 2019/20.

This season, the Hoops doubled their points tally from 2022/23 in Europe’s premier club competition while securing their first home victory in the Champions League in over a decade.

At right-back, Alistair Johnston played every minute in Group E for the Bhoys this campaign and across the Champions League – up until now – he has completed the seventh-most tackles, ranking above players like Joshua Kimmich and Sergio Ramos:

Johnston being included in this table despite playing in the competition just six times this season is a testament to his performances.

Particularly given it was his first time turning out in any UEFA games, the Canadian was respectable in most of his displays.
