CELTIC have not shown their hand with what striker they’re pushing for in this window as we continue to play a guessing game.
Andraz Sporar was one of the first linked with the club in December but as we sit on January 9, Celtic don’t seem any closer to a solution.
Reports in Portugal have suggest another green and white team – Sporting Lisbon are currently actively negotiating a deal for the Bratislava striker.
Desporto claim the Portuguese club have stolen a march on the transfer but are trying to negotiate Bratislava down from €7m.
This could be why Celtic have looked at other targets – not wanting to pay as much for the frontman.
The last time a director at Bratislava spoke about Celtic’s interest they said the clubs and Sporar’s agent had a meeting with Celtic concluding they’d be in touch with a deal, however it has gone quiet since then. Read here.
