In an incredible and surreal turn of events, it’s being claimed tonight Celtic are in advanced talks with Ange Postecoglou.

Who? You might ask.

The 55-year-old is a greek born Australian manager who is currently who has spent time managing in Australia, Japan and Greece.

This name has came from absolutely nowhere today and appears to come with a Fergal Harkin link.

John Percy of the Telegraph is claiming Celtic are close to appointing him.

Going from Eddie Howe to an unknown manager will be absolutely infuriating to many supporters, if true.

Dermot Desmond was at the head of the charge for the Eddie Howe move but this would certainly not be a Desmond appointment.

Celtic need to be very careful, after the calamitous way this whole saga has unravelled, if they bring in a relative unknown as an absolute punt, the supporters will not be happy.

Are they putting this story out as a red herring?

  1. Haha and everybody laughed at Dr Jo Venglos one coat. Now everybodies just laughing, yes all the way to the bank. One of the reasons Eddie Who never became anything than a long winded fart at Celtic, Well guess the boards long pockets short arms, make do with what your handed, policy’s were a joke to him too. Whithold all renewals. Until someone worthy is knighted Boss at Paradise. £50 off offer at the Celtic shop. Ha fuc&en ha. At Childs top is £55. Better get a good free streem and save your cash. And invest in something with a future. Jesus Christ died for much less. Don’t be led, be leaders. Or spend your life, just pishing into a gale.

  2. Just when you thought the nightmare season was over total incompetence from DD and the board, now they will tell us howe wasn’t 1st choice and whoever comes in now was always their main target. This board don’t give a sh*t about CELTIC, they’re only interested in themselves.

  3. What a shower of spoilt weans some Celtic supporters are these days, I accept that Eddie Howe was given too much respect and time by the Celtic board and threw it back in their faces. What I don’t accept is the stupid attitude by an element of the support who seem to think that a half decent manager in Europe is going to come to the Scottish league, the board have to think outside the box and to me that’s what they’re doing. If it’s Postecoglou it will be a gamble but every managerial appointment is a gamble, I’m not happy with the board but in my family we have 3 season tickets and will be renewing. Starving the club of cash will only make things worse, dare I say it but the supporters of the new club at Ibrox could teach some Celtic fans a lesson with their support for the old club and new club in their years in the lower leagues. Postecoglou has experience in International football and domestic football in Australia and Japan, he has a reputation for his teams playing a high press attacking style which we all appreciate at Celtic Park. The Japanese League is a reasonable standard and has supplied Europe with some decent players over the years including Naka. If this guy gets the job I’m prepared to welcome him, wish him all the luck in the world and at least he won’t have to put up with Lawwell trying to be CEO and Chief Scout at the same time.
