Ange Postecoglou hasn’t ruled out throwing in his new signings in at the deep-end after declaring both Alistair Johnston and Yuki Kobayashi are fit and available for the Glasgow Derby.

The Celtic boss was speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Glasgow Derby on Monday. Asked if both could see action, the Australian was unequivocal.

“They’re ready [Kobayashi and Johnston] and available straight away and Tomoki won’t be too far away either.”

It would be a huge curve ball if either played. At the moment, both could conceivably make the bench. If Anthony Ralston is still recovering from injury, there’s more than a good chance Johnston finds himself in the squad. However, we’d expect Josip Juranovic to come back in to the right back position for the tie.

Kobayashi is a different story. We all know Ange has his favoured pairing of CCV and Startfelt. Jenz hasn’t had a look in since football resumed post-World Cup, we’d expect Kobayashi will have to wait for his chance. The Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park versus Morton could be a jumping off point for the defender.

Celtic are in good shape ahead of the trip to Ibrox.

Sead Haksabanovic is 100% ruled out of the game. Ralston is touch and go, but apart from that, the squad looks strong.
