Ange Postecoglou has expressed his desire to take up the managerial reins at Tottenham Hotspur. However, MailSport report tonight he hopes to bring John Kennedy with him!

John has been at the club since he was a young bhoy in the academy and has held many different roles at the club, rising through the ranks.

The Australian manager recently led Celtic to their eighth domestic Treble, securing a 3-1 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final.

It is understood that Postecoglou, after the euphoria of Saturday’s triumph, shared his intentions to join Spurs with Celtic’s directors and colleagues, including major shareholder Dermot Desmond.

A meeting to review the triumphant Treble-winning season was on the agenda for the football department staff on Monday. However, it appears that Postecoglou will not be in attendance.

Postecoglou, who took charge of Celtic in June 2021 under a 12-month rolling contract, has remained notably non-committal about his future. He has not dismissed the possibility of stepping into the shoes left vacant by Antonio Conte, especially after Tottenham’s unsuccessful attempts to secure Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot.

With the green light and final discussions pending, Spurs are optimistic about moving forward with the deal. Postecoglou is set to embark on a holiday with his family on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Celtic is gearing up to start the search for their next manager.
