The list of potential Parkhead exits this summer grows daily. There is going to be a massive rebuild between want-away players, loan deals ending and contracts running out.
One man who we didn’t peg for a move away is Nir Bitton, however, reports overnight claim the midfielder turned defender is a top target of Maccabi Haifa. SunSport claim the Israeli club will test the club’s resolve this summer.
Nir is a squad player and comes in when there’s injuries. He hasn’t been considered a first team starter for years.
Depending on the bid, it could be time for Celtic and the player to part ways after this term after 8 years at the club.
Nir was signed by Neil Lennon during his first stint as Celtic manager and has worked under both Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers.
He’s a steady player but there are times when it’s clear he’s a converted centre-back.
I wouldn’t imagine Neil Lennon would let the player go if he’s still the manager in June, but if a new man comes in, all bets are off.
Never been a fan of Bitton. far too slow for a defender (aka moreorless red card), telegraphs passes, and he’s shut down ever so easy. Oh for a Bobo Balde type centre back.
