Foot Mercato – A large French Football Website has claimed Borussia Dortmund have been enquiring about Celtic’s Moussa Dembele in recent days.

The site claims the German club are looking to do big business in next months transfer window and are seriously considering a move for Celtic’stalisman.

Given Dortmund’s budget and Celtic’s reluctant to sell the player at all – any fee for the player would surely be another record breaking deal for Celtic.

Celtic rejected a few bids for the player last summer, with Brendan Rodgers admitting they fell way short of their valuation of the player.

The Irishman also spoke of Moussa having a two-year cycle at the club, something which he has now done.

Dembele has two-years left on his current Celtic contract and the board will be aware his value will diminish if they keep the striker one more season and let him go into the final year of his deal.

The board will also know the player’s importance for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier and will be reluctant to sell until their fate is sealed.

It’s believed Celtic want upwards of £20million for their top striker, given today’s over inflated market, to ask for less would be negligible. This would mean Celtic would break their record for fee received for a player with the current largest Parkhead exit costing £12million for the sale of Virgil van Dijk to Southampton.

Celtic fans will be hoping the club are trying to sign the Frenchman to a new deal, but no news on this front yet.

Expect a long summer of rumours surrounding Moussa.
