The news broke yesterday evening that Celtic had accepted a large bid from Southampton for their midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
There has been a flurry of opinions from the Celtic side – some thanking him for his time at the club, others perplexed at his eagerness to move and others quite pleased with the fee agreed.
But what are Southampton fans making of the move? Considering they have a lot more knowledge of Celtic players coming into the EPL more than most.
At first glance, they seem underwhelmed.
No thank you!! Need to be looking at players of a higher calibre than him! We have Prowsey, Davis, Lemina, Reed, Romeu and Hojbjerg already!! Don’t need any midfielders!

Agreed. He’s a mid table championship player at beat. He’s up against players who are as good as Exeter. Of course he will do well. The English game is harder and the opponents are a lot better than Dundee United or Motherwell.

Good signing! Why do our fans think that we have to spend 30 million on a foreign player for him to be any good! Good bit of business! ?

I'm not interested in excitement, I'm interested in good players who we feel can contribute to the first team. I think he'd be am excellent signing. Celtic must be sick of us…

Give the man every bit of support he deserves. Can i just remind you that Sir Ricky Lambert cost £1 million from Bristol Rovers, just splashing cash is not what its about, he is a perfect replacement for Steven Davis. It seems to me that too many Saints (so called fans) know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Im looking forward to seeing him in the Team and hope that you Neg Heads slither off towards Pompey.
Welcome to Southampton fc Stuart, you will find that the majority of true fans will be delighted to have you here. Pete Wesley
Thank God,Armstrong has gone to Southampton.Guy wasnt at Celtic for the Achievments.
