When a Celtic player goes off the boil, there’s an element of our support who immediately start firing out the line ‘he isn’t interested’.
In the case of Odsonee Edouard, he’s only ever one goalless game away from having that accusation levied at him. His calm demeanour appears to rub some of the support the wrong way if he doesn’t get on the score sheet.
Now some are using the news Eddy broke the France under 21 goal scoring record as some sort of proof he’s ‘downed tools’ for Celtic.
It’s crazy.
Eddy hasn’t had a fair run at things this season yet, with injury and catching the virus stopping him from getting into full flow. We have also had formation changes and the rest of the team looking sluggish at times, the service in some games has dried up.
The fact he scored a double for France on Monday should be celebrated and looked at as Eddy starting to return to his best. Instead, some are using the feat as a stick in which to beat him.
France played Liechtenstein on Thursday night where Eddy didn’t get on the score sheet during a 5-0 win, that doesn’t help with their narrative.

Been AWOL for Celtic and doesn't seem interested at all, struts around like he owns the place while adding very little on the pitch.. dont think his head is with us mate, and a half hearted edouard more than any other individual could cost us the title

Eddy performance tonight for France screams to me he has downed tools at Celtic, looks like a totally different player when playing for France

One supporter on social media got it spot on!
Can’t believe some folk are using Edouard scoring a double for France tonight as evidence that he doesn’t want to be at Celtic ???
Lunatics.

The fact is, Eddy playing against teams who aren’t going to park the bus constantly for ninety minutes means he’s going to get more opportunities to score. He got two great goals against Switzerland on Monday night and we hope he brings that form to Easter Road on Saturday, some of our fans need a reality check.
