Celtic are set to announce the signing of Vasilios Barkas today after the player landed in Glasgow on Wednesday.
Barkas has been through his medical and we’re now awaiting the deal to be properly signed and sealed before the club make the announcement.
The goalkeeper is coming in to replace Fraser Forster, who decided not to return for another loan spell after the club agreed on a deal with Southampton.
There is some ambiguity surrounding what Celtic have actually paid for Barkas, with Record Sport claiming it’s £4.5m but Anthony Jospeph of Sky Sports and The Mail claiming the upfront fee is as little as €3.3m.
Vasilis Barkas has had a medical in Glasgow today ahead of his proposed move to Celtic from AEK Athens.
Celtic have agreed a fee with AEK for the Greek international – understood to be an initial 3.3m euros, with add-ons based on appearances.
Likely to be confirmed tomorrow.

A huge disparity in the reported fee.
Vasilios will put pen to paper on a four-year deal, we’re unsure at the moment if that will be standard four years or if the club are adopting the three years plus the addon of one more year if the club choose to invoke it.
