On loan Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo, has had a more than an eventful debut, scoring a double and also receiving a yellow card, all within the first 45 minutes.

The Ivorian striker first joined the Hoops in the 2019 January window but failed to have an impact, playing only a few minutes in that season.

At the beginning of last season, it looked as though he may be given a chance, featuring several times off the bench and was even given a start against Patrick Thistle in the League Cup and Hearts in the league.

Of course, famously Bayo scored two goals in this game but both were put down as own-goals by the SPFL goals panel. Hearts manager at the time, Craig Levein strangely made a big deal of these goals not being given to the striker.

He was also harshly given a sending-off against Stade Rennes in the Europa League Group Stage opener.

After his short spell in the squad, Bayo failed to recover from various injury problems and was outcast by manager, Neil Lennon.

Due to the Northern Irishman bringing in two strikers in the last two windows, Bayo’s time at the club looked to be coming to an end and that was confirmed with his move to Ligue 2.

He looks to have got off to a brilliant start so far for Toulouse even though they did even up losing the game 5-3. So it might not be that long before the French club take up their option to buy.

It would just be Celtic’s luck to see Bayo go on and make a successful career for himself, elsewhere.
