As Celtic transfer stories go this has to the the quickest to rise and then be quashed.

Liverpool echo reported on Thursday evening that Celtic had made contact over former defensive target Ben Davies. Many will remember Ben was set to sign for Celtic before Liverpool’s bizarre intervention. The Anfield club signed Ben after having their own defensive crisis and Celtic were left in the lurch.

Two years later, Ben had never made a first team appearance for the club.

The Echo wrote Celtic were interested again but Mark Hendry from Football Scotland who has been dropping Celtic insider knowledge this summer regularly has made it clear it’s NOT the case.

If only all transfer rumours could be confirmed or denied as quickly as this!

Celtic Defender Situation

Celtic might bring in another centre back this season but only if they sell Christopher Jullien. Signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal has made sure the bhoys are prepared going into next season.

Christopher wants to show his worth to Ange and the team. Could he make a Hoops comeback?
