Alexandro Bernabei was erratic more than anything in Celtic’s pivotal 2-1 win over Hibs on Wednesday evening. The vivacious Argentinian left-back got the nod again for the Celts and played his part in the victory.

Bernabei looked to get up and down the left-hand side throughout the 90, providing an attacking outlet for his team out wide. His performance seemed to divide opinion among some fans, though.

On the eye, the 23-year-old looked characteristically chaotic and tumultuous, however, the numbers stated that he had a rather effective display and was one of the Hoops’ better players on the night.

After the match, the defender posted on Instagram with a simple caption of ‘+3’, but one of the responses to it was particularly intriguing:

Indeed, Glasgow Warriors rugby player Lucio Sordoni commented, quipping ‘much better than Taylor’:

Also hailing from Argentina, Sordoni and Bernabei seem to enjoy a friendship off the park. Taylor is the left-back’s sole competition for a spot in the team, and discussions about him and Bernabei’s strive for minutes potentially come up between the two Argentines.

One thing is for sure, though, that the majority of the Parkhead faithful would likely disagree with Sordoni and are looking forward to the return of Taylor from injury either this weekend or next.
