According to reports, Celtic have had a £3.5m turned down for Aaron Hickey from Bologna.

The player has been a long term target for the club, way before Ange Postecoglou came to the club. In recent weeks, it appears Celtic have revived that interest but have been rebuffed according to SunSport.

When the manager spoke about positions he was looking for after the Sheffield Wednesday — Ange Postecoglou mentioned wingers, centre-back and right-back — but no mention of a left back.

Celtic have Greg Taylor and Boli Bolingoli in that position currently and if players are getting a fresh start — you’d think that pertains to Boli as well.

Celtic do have more pressing position to fill this summer and Hickey shouldn’t be top off the list. If the left-back is still on our radar — he might not be for much longer if Bologna want a sizeable fee.

Considering Aaron was available for £1m a year ago — paying £3.5m now would be crazy.
